I subscribe to the jobs alert email from jobs.ac.uk and this weekend I noticed a PhD Studentship in Social Media, from the University of Stirling. I haven't seen any funding specifically to study social media at PhD level so this will undoubtedly attract lots of attention (not from me - I've already got one 😉 ).
It's not strictly speaking a digital marketing / media research project but looks at
social media relations – the dilemmas and the possibilities - in professional practice, with particular focus on medicine, social work, nursing and teaching
The application deadline is 20th September and it's open to EU citizens. Wow! I don't know the University of Stirling but I do know Stirling. Great city with an ace castle, in one of the most beautiful countries in the world (Scotland!).
So, if you've always wanted to stay on in higher education but don't know how to pay for it, this PhD studentship could be for you!
You can apply on the University of Stirling's website. Good luck!
